In the case of Schimmel, outstanding attention is paid to the composition of the sound dampening sensitivities of the hammer heads. Due to the density and weight, felt is used, so the tension is simultaneous with the elasticity. Thus, the head of the hammer optimally transmits the impact energy to the strings. Felt is produced according to an old recipe, which is more complex than today's industrial felt production.
