A stage revolution

Thanks to the dual sound generator, exceptional playing feel and advanced control options, the RD-2000 meets all the needs of modern pianists both on stage and in the studio. Combining cutting-edge piano technology with modern controllability, this new generation piano takes the stage piano to new heights in terms of inspiration and creativity.

Geared up for concerts

The RD-2000 stage piano makes every concert keyboardist's dream come true. The instrument's dual sound generator reproduces Roland's finest piano and electric piano tones through the most advanced keyboard ever produced for our stage pianos. The internal memory has plenty of orchestral sounds for a wide variety of music genres, and two expansion card slots are available to add more sounds. Thanks to the innovative user interface, the RD-2000 is also perfectly suited as a master keyboard for the use of software-based instruments on stage.

Stunning acoustic piano tones a
Thanks to V-Piano technology

The tones of the RD-2000 acoustic piano are magical. As a result of the latest Roland piano technologies and long-term V-Piano research, we can enjoy incredibly natural, sensitive and detailed acoustic sounds thanks to the dedicated acoustic sound generator, which guarantees full keyboard polyphony for uncompromising piano playing.

Vintage electric piano tones

The instrument's second SuperNATURAL-based sound generator reproduces classic electric piano tones from the '60s, '70s and '80s, including original sounds from the RD-1000 (the very first RD stage piano) and MKS-20 sound module from the '80s. Thanks to Roland's landmark SA technology, the iconic tones of the early recordings are immediately echoed. Vintage effects such as the famous BOSS CE-1 Chorus and Roland SDD-320 Dimension D are also available for processing electric piano tones. Also, visit our special page on the history of RD stage pianos, effects and other classic instruments, where tone demos you can also get to know the RD-2000 sounds.

Perfect gaming feel

The trigger-point PHA-50 Progressive hammer mechanism perfectly serves the RD-2000's sensitive acoustic and electric piano tones. This innovative keyboard is constructed from a combination of wood and special plastics for a classic gaming feel and durability. The advanced sensor system and sophisticated hammer mechanism connected to the keyboard guarantee a perfect concert piano playing feeling everywhere and at every moment.

Created for the stage

With the RD-2000's clear user interface, operating the instrument is child's play even at concerts. Eight rotary and nine sliding knobs are available for quick handling of tones and effects. LED indicators are connected to the potentiometers, which provide immediate visual feedback for precise adjustments.

Zones and Scene memories

The RD-2000 has eight zones that allow you to assign sounds to different keyboard ranges and create combined sounds with up to eight different sounds. Thanks to the new Scene function, a total of 100 complete settings can be stored on the instrument, and any of them can be called up during the performance with the touch of a single button.

Bender and modulation wheel

In addition to the classic Pitch/Mod lever, there are also two modulation wheels on the instrument, so there are even more options for sophisticated musical expression in any musical genre. The two independently assignable wheels can also be used for detailed timbre adjustments on an external synthesizer.

Efficient encoder potentiometers

The RD-2000's dynamic encoder knobs take instrument control to new heights on stage. Thanks to the LED indicators, the setting of the given potentiometer can be checked in the blink of an eye, even in pitch darkness. Since they are rotation-sensitive potentiometers, slow movement enables precise editing, and fast movement allows you to search for timbres and parameters efficiently.

Orchestral sounds for every genre

In addition to the world-class piano sounds, the versatile RD-2000 stores more than 1,100 additional sounds, so you can move at home in any musical style with a single instrument. Roland's SuperNATURAL technology is capable of playing highly expressive Virtual Tone Wheel organ, modern and vintage synthesizer, Clavinet, orchestral strings and many other tone types. More sounds are available and can be downloaded to the RD-2000's two expansion memory slots via Roland's Axial website, including sounds from previous RD instruments. In addition, all Live Sets stored in the RD-800 model are fully compatible with the RD-2000 instrument.

Control

Among all RD pianos, the RD-2000 has the most comprehensive control capabilities, so it can also be perfectly placed as a central instrument in a larger instrument assembly. The internal tones can be seamlessly integrated with software-based tones, sound modules and other devices, thus the instrument can serve even the most demanding stage needs.

Connecting DAW and other software

The RD-2000's USB audio/MIDI interface lets you easily integrate software instruments with a DAW application or your favorite software installed on a laptop for stage use. Software synthesizers are controlled via Zones along with built-in Voices, resulting in powerful hybrid instrument setups to be played through the RD-2000 piano. The interface supports 24-bit audio up to 192kHz for the highest level of sound quality.

Flexible audio outputs

With its versatile outputs, the RD-2000 is instantly ready to serve any stage or studio setup. XLR and 6.3 mm jack sockets are connected to the main stereo outputs, but there is also a Sub output for independent output of the instrument's built-in tones and USB audio.

Designed for professional performers

Combining the traditional look of the RD series with the components of the V-Piano, the RD-2000 is the embodiment of tradition and innovation. When designing the instrument, the primary goal was to serve the needs of professionals, including clear handling, the organization of tones, and the logical arrangement of connectors, switches and potentiometers.

Light weight and durable construction

While the RD-2000 has added many new features, its weight has not changed compared to previous models. It can still be easily transported from concert to concert, and the aluminum instrument body is not only impressive, but also extremely resistant.

Wide range of foot control options

Reverb, Expression and other pedals can be connected to the RD-2000's four configurable pedal inputs. A DP-10 reverb pedal is included with the instrument, but to achieve the pedal functions of real concert pianos, an optional RPU-3 pedal is required, which combines the three pedals into one compact unit.

Matching stand

The KS-G8 stand, which can be purchased separately, is the perfect choice for the RD-2000 stage piano, whether it's for concerts or studio work. The stand's open design gives it a sleek look, while strong steel tubes guarantee maximum stability. The KS-G8 can be folded for transport and its height can be adjusted as desired for playing sitting or standing.
