Perfect stage piano designed for live performances With all its features, the RD-800 supports quick and easy handling in stage conditions. Live Sets allow you to store pre-made Layer, Split, effect and many other settings and then quickly recall them using the appropriate buttons during the performance. After dialing in, changing the tones immediately is extremely fast and easy. Thanks to the logical, transparent panel allocation and the numerous controls, the most important tasks (e.g. selecting and stacking tones, setting the split point and effects, etc.) can be performed comfortably and with minimal time spent. The color LCD displays the various parameters graphically, which enables easy adjustment in any lighting conditions. All the buttons on the front panel are equipped with LED indicators, which makes the current settings visible even on the darkest stage.

Authentic concert piano sound designed for stage use The versatile tones of the RD-800 concert piano are well suited to any musical style, from solo performances to orchestral settings. There are 34 variations associated with the 5 available acoustic piano types, including a Concert Grand timbre taken from Roland's top-of-the-line V-Piano Grand instrument, which delivers a punchy sound during live performances. There is also a newly developed piano timbre in the instrument, which plays with a short tone characteristic of traditional pianos and a typical sound. Customization of piano tones according to the performance space and your own style

The RD-800 offers an incredible amount of control options to shape the piano sound you envision. The built-in Piano Designer allows you to easily adjust all sound-creating elements with piano-specific parameters such as string resonance, key release resonance, hammer noise and many other parameters. With the Individual Note Voicing function, the pitch, volume and tonal character can be set independently for all 88 notes in even more detail. In addition to creating a personal sound, this special function can also be used to equalize the overall piano sound, adapting to the given performance space. After selecting a SuperNATURAL Piano tone, the Tone Color knob will automatically act as an image width adjustment, allowing you to adjust the output from full stereo to mono to suit the situation. Of course, all your own settings can be saved as a Live Set for quick access later.

In addition to authentic acoustic piano sounds, the RD-800 also stores a number of revamped SuperNATURAL-based electric piano sounds reminiscent of classic instruments from the '60s, '70s and '80s. There are 56 variations for the 5 available types. Parameters such as key press/release mechanical noise, key release resonance, reverberant pedal noise and many other parameters help to create the perfect sound that corresponds to the idea. With the help of the Tone Color potentiometer, it is even possible to create completely new tones that can even interpenetrate and transform into each other ("morphing"), starting from two different electric piano models. The EP sound can be further enriched with excellent effects, including several tremolo variations, an authentic Phaser and an amplifier simulator (with several speaker types) to reproduce the characteristics of period-correct distortion.

In addition to the 10 different Virtual Tone Wheel organ tones, a SuperNATURAL-based clavi, several Vintage keyboard instruments and modern synthesizer tones for modern styles are also included in the instrument's internal memory. The RD-800's powerful Master MIDI keyboard functions allow you to control external sound sources both on stage and in the studio.

The RD-800 includes a number of effects that can be used together with dedicated controls to further refine the sound.
