Innovation for effortless presentation
The Clavinova is an innovative series of digital pianos, in the development of which the tilt and tone of the concert piano were given a prominent role - the two most defining factors of the piano. To achieve a realistic piano experience, Yamaha's experience and expertise from more than 100 years of piano making are combined. By using top technology, Clavinova is able to produce pianos of a quality that provides a perfect playing experience for both beginners and advanced players. In order to make a smooth transition from an acoustic instrument to a digital piano, not only the sound of the piano, but also its tilt was realistically reproduced.
The sounds of one of the best concert pianos in the world
Two world-renowned concert pianos at the touch of a button, the CLP series allows you to choose the most perfect piano for your music. Much more than just a collection of digital sound samples, the CLP-600 series reproduces the smallest details of the sound of the Yamaha CFX piano and the legendary Bӧsendorfer Imperial.
Full piano experience - even with headphones
Yamaha's advanced binaural sampling technology is now available in Clavinova instruments. The technology uses sound samples from CFX, the sound of Yamaha's famous concert piano was recorded with special microphones, the samples can be heard with such small details that the human ear can barely perceive. The result is so natural that you will soon forget that you are listening to the instrument through headphones.
Variety is the spice of life.
The CVP-705 contains hundreds of high-quality instrument sounds, including "Natural!", "Sweet!" and "Cool!" tones. The timbres were sampled separately to complement the types of instruments. Yamaha Super Articulation tones (SA) also contain small characteristics typical of playing real instruments, so it is as if the sounds are being played by a virtuoso and not from a piano keyboard. Such playing technique sounds are, for example, the sound of fretboards, the tapping of the body of the guitar, or, in the case of wind instruments, the sound of the player inhaling and exhaling and the glissando technique. By changing the pitch, playing technical elements or using the pedals, the SA timbres contribute significantly to the realistic sound.
Real wood X keyboard - the feel of an acoustic concert piano
In creating a real wood (NWX) keyboard, Yamaha used its experience in piano manufacturing, which goes back more than a hundred years.
Just as with grand pianos, the material used for Natural Wood X keyboards is cut from wood that has been carefully dried specifically for use in making musical instruments. Only the best wood from the finest part of each tree is selected, resulting in a keyboard that is more resistant to buckling and warping than common laminated wood keyboards.
The Yamaha Natural Wood X keyboard features the same action and three-sensor configuration as Graded Hammer 3X keyboards, which accurately senses and interprets the behavior of the keyboard for a response that feels very similar to that of a grand piano. This allows you to vividly perform smooth, flowing passages or light trills, techniques used in many pieces such as Für Elise.
When you don't just want to play the piano.
One of the greatest features of the CVP Clavinova is that you can accompany your playing in real time in an extremely wide variety of different styles by playing chords. With style accompaniments, you can accompany your game with virtual musicians in various musical styles. By playing chords, you can set the harmony and dynamics of the accompaniment, the orchestration of the accompaniment can range from small jazz bands to full symphonic bands. Styles created with professional studio musicians selected from around the world give your playing a realistic, studio-quality orchestral accompaniment. With Styles, you can add lifelike Intro, Ending and Fill-In parts to your songs and re-orchestrate your playing in real time.
The trigger point mechanism of Clavinova instruments
Trigger-point mechanics on pianos move the hammer away from the string quickly after being struck to allow the string to vibrate freely. The mechanism creates a slight clicking sensation when the key is pressed gently. Because the Real Grand Expression provides excellent tone, tilt, and pedal play, we decided to design a trigger point that provides excellent playability, repetition, and sensitivity without making the piano difficult to play. Clavinova instruments have a trigger point that exerts its effect almost when fully depressed. Similar to the case of the piano, the trigger point can only be felt with the softest playing. The keyboard has been adjusted to provide additional resistance to each key press without making it difficult to play the piano.
Synthetic ivory and ebony keyboard - still a pleasure to play after hours of playing
Our fingers are more sensitive than we think, and the touch of the keys is also extremely important for a pianist. The white keys of the GH3X were developed by Yamaha from the highest quality synthetic ivory. The black keys are made of synthetic ebony. The synthetic ivory keyboard recreates the feel of a real vintage ivory keyboard. The surface is covered with the most ideal material for playing the piano, which prevents the fingers from slipping even after hours of practice. The natural and comfortable keyboard surface, made with Yamaha's unique technology, is the result of the company's more than a hundred years of acoustic piano production. In addition to its extraordinary touch, the aesthetic design and texture of the keys are unmatched in the history of digital pianos, and their effect is inspiring from the moment you play the piano.
Keyboard Stabilizers —Yamaha's unique mechanism provides even more durable, stable operation
The keyboard is the medium through which you can transform your feelings into sound with your fingers, which is why it is particularly important that it has a smooth touch in order to be able to play it excellently for a long time. That's why Yamaha has included the Keyboard Stabilizer in all 88-key instruments, which makes playing more natural and makes the keyboard more stable and durable.
For the sound that really resonates with the listener
In the piano, the strings and the sound vibrate inside the instrument, and this is where the rich, beautiful reverberation is built up, from which a characteristic sound is formed for the listener as well. Not only the played strings, but also other, unplayed strings vibrate as a result of his playing.
This phenomenon can be perfectly reproduced by the NU1X Virtual Resonance Modeling technology (VRM), which assesses the state of each string belonging to the 88 keys from moment to moment, allowing you to play it vividly and expressively. All of this appears in the almost infinite number of factors that play a role in playing the piano - e.g. the pitch, the number of keys pressed, the strength of the stroke and the timing of the pedal.
Sing in perfect harmony ... with yourself!
You can sing along to songs stored on your Clavinova or downloaded from YamahaMusicsoft.com. In the Smart Pianist session, lyrics are displayed and the color of the words changes to indicate when to sing.
Connect a microphone to the instrument and you can already accompany your vocals. Vocal Harmony can enrich your singing with advanced harmonies and even correct possible pitch errors!
Acoustic Optimizer
The volume of the speakers attached to the instrument is usually amplified due to a physical phenomenon, due to the resonance of the instrument's body. That is why the frequency can be canceled with the resonant frequency of the piano body built into the instrument. The acoustic optimizer uses this phenomenon.
The development is due to Yamaha's comprehensive knowledge of the characteristic internal acoustics of musical instruments.
Multi-track song recording
With the recorder in Clavinova digital pianos, you can record your playing* at the touch of a button and thus get an objective picture of your performance. In addition, you can record on a maximum of 16 tracks, which you can play back at the same time, the recording can be done with separate hands, or with the so-called "overdub" technique by recording separate timbres.
* Recordings are made in MIDI format and you can even record them with the Smart Pianist app.
Audio recording
Record your playing with the Smart Pianist app, create audio files* that you can save and play on your smart devices.
