– not to mention the special ebony finish. The rich black exterior, which creates a velvety delicacy, elevates the instrument into an attractive piece of furniture and fills the musician with artistic desire.
The feeling of three world-class concert pianos in your own home
Experience the sound of the highly regarded concert grand pianos, the “Shigeru Kawai EX” and the legendary “EX” and the 2m model “Shigeru SK-5” in your home. Play these fantastic pianos with the new Grand Feel 2 keyboard mechanics and discover the natural sound with the newly developed speaker system or the also new SHS headphone technology. Grand Feel 2 mechanics, Ivory and Ebony wood effect key surfaces and Let-off simulation
The mechanics of the CS-11 Digital Piano are Grand Feel 2 mechanics, which is the piano factory's highest level mechanics! The quality of the mechanics is based on more than 85 years of experience of the Japanese piano factory. Thus ensuring an extremely high level of tilting. Just like a grand piano, the end point of each wooden key is located on a balanced needle - the rise and fall of the ends create the well-known 'seesaw' feeling of an acoustic piano. The Grand Feel 2 keys are longer than any other digital piano, the keys are 100% the same length as acoustic pianos. When the end of the key lifter is depressed, it depresses a graded weighted hammer that strikes the pressure switch. The classification of weighted hammers is the result of meticulous planning, during which the effect of gravity is optimized. Their weight and size mimic the hammers of a concert piano. The 3-sensor system facilitates the feedback of quick re-pressing of the same key, allowing the sound to be accurate and the previous sound not to be lost. In addition to graded weighted hammers, the Grand Feel 2 mechanism includes counterweights for each key. Just like a concert piano, the amount of force is metered by the switch, so the right note is played with authentic tone and volume. Associated numbered weights are placed in front of the bass keys to make it easier to hit them harder in pianissimo parts. Finally, the Grand Feel 2 mechanism incorporates Kawai's Ivory and Ebony effect surfaces. The finely textured material gently absorbs the sweat and grease content of your fingerprint to help you control your keyboard playing. It has a natural matte finish that is subtle but not greasy.
Reproduction of Shigeru Kawai SK-EX, SK-5 and Kawai EX instruments with Harmonic Imaging appearance technique, with 88 keys
The CS-11 digital piano incorporates the lavish sound of the Kawai Shigeru SK-EX concert grand piano. Widely recognized as 'Japan's premium pianos', Kawai Shigeru instruments conquer concert stages and music institutions around the world and are highly respected for their excellent tonal clarity. The CS-11 also carries the distinctive features of the highly acclaimed Kawai EX concert piano, which has recently been the choice of professional pianists at events such as the international Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Rubinstein piano competitions. All 88 keys of the CS-11 of these 3 world-class instruments are carefully measured, meticulously analyzed and precisely manufactured as a high level of fidelity to the wave of the digital modern age. Each key is documented separately, thus excluding the stretching of the same timbre over different notes, thereby preserving the richness and harmonic character of the EX concert grand piano.
Rich sound selection
In addition to high-level acoustic piano sound, the CS-11 model features excellent sound modes, from electric pianos to church organs, from human choirs to synthesizers, giving musicians the opportunity to add color to their productions. The Dual playing mode enables two different sounds, like a piano and a string ensemble, while the Split and 4-hand modes divide the keyboard into two separate parts. Volume balance and other settings can be adjusted quickly and easily for each game mode.
Virtual Technician: customize the character of the instrument
The CS-11's advanced Virtual Technician features allow the pianist to set up various piano characters. The musician gets the chance to adjust the feel and sound, hammer and key release sound, string fine tuning, lid and damper resonance. It's even possible to set precision intonation and volume for each note. When we are done with the refinements, we can store them in the instrument's internal memory.
Flexible USB connection and MP3 audio playback and recording
The Concert Artist series is equipped with a modern USB connector, which allows you to connect the instrument to a computer for MIDI use, and to download and upload data directly to the USB device. USB memory devices can also be used to play MP3 or WAV music files, giving the musician the opportunity to learn chords or melodies to create a new song or simply play along to their favorite tracks. It is also possible to record complete exercises directly as MP3 or WAV files and send them by email to your loved ones or even listen to music through the piano.
Useful connection options
In addition to USB connectors for PC and USB devices, the CS-11 introduces audio and MIDI connectors. These useful connection points allow the instrument to be used in larger installations such as churches or school halls, providing greater flexibility when using a PC or other audio devices.
